KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 6 — Pos Malaysia Berhad is to issue special stamps on the 14th Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah, on Dec 13.
Pos Malaysia’s Head of the Stamp and Philately Unit Diyana Lean Abdullah said the series of stamps were being issued in honour of Tuanku Abdul Halim who would complete his five-year reign as the Yang di-Pertuan Agong on Dec 12.
She said the stamp collection entitled ‘The Reign of His Majesty Yang di-Pertuan Agong XIV’ was aimed at highlighting the interesting elements pertaining to Tuanku Abdul Halim.
“Tuanku is the first Ruler to have reigned twice as the Yang di-Pertuan Agong,” she told a press conference today.
Diyana said the stamps would come in three designs, namely ‘The King as the Head of Religion’, at 85 sen each; ‘The King as the Head of the Military’, at 95 sen each, and ‘The King as the Head of the Nation’, at RM1.05 each. A total of 150,000 stamps of each design would be printed.
She also said that the First Day Cover, with the leaflet but without the stamps, would cost 55 sen each and the folder would cost RM6.35 each.
The stamp collection also comes with the Miniature Sheet valed at RM3 that portrays the image of His Majesty inspecting a guard-of-honour.
The complete set of the series of stamps and philately products would cost RM71.20 each.
Diyana also said that Pos Malaysia would launch on Friday a collection of stamps on the Girl Guides Association of Malaysia entitled ‘100 Years of the Girl Guides Association of Malaysia’.
The collection would be in three designs as well, and cost 85 sen per stamp.
The First Day Cover with the leaflet but without the stamps would cost 55 sen each and the folder, RM6.35 each. The complete set of stamps and philately products would cost RM63.65 each. — Bernama
