SHAH ALAM – We have seen various Teachers’ Day Celebration themes in order to celebrate and the contributions of the teachers.
A Teachers’ Day with a difference was held at Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Seksyen 9, Shah Alam, when they chose to highlight the Malay Sultanate era. All 76 teachers and 10 supporting staffs of SK Seksyen 9 wore complete traditional Malay songket costumes, complete with tengkolok (headgear), keris for the male teachers and sanggul for the female teachers.
The headmaster, Md Isa Zakariya was also spotted in the same outfit, quoting that it will be interesting for the children to experience the Malay Sultanate. Also present at the event was Deputy UMNO Chief of Shah Alam, Datuk Abdul Rahim Mat Shah.
More interestingly, the teachers also surprised the students by doing a comedy sketch on Hang Tuah and Hang Jebat which drew the laughter of the students. Besides that, the teachers also performed traditional dances.
Besides the teachers, pre-school students also performed a traditional dance in appreciation of their beloved teachers.
In celebration of the multi-talented teachers, the school also organised contests such as, The Best Desk contest, cooking competition.
The students also voted their favourite teachers for the Comedian Award, the Most Popular Award, Meletop Award, Good Teacher Award, Hot Item, Supercool and Supernova Awards. The Best Dressed awards were also awarded to the teachers who dressed their bests. – MalaysiaGazette
